The history of Shin Gi Tai Judo Club

Shin Gi Tai Judo Club has been operating since 1985; Starting life as YMCA Judo Club at Y-South (Acacia Ridge).

    YCMA Judo

    The club that would become Shin Gi Tai Judo was founded by Maurice Mirabito at the YCMA located on Beaudesert Rd in Acaia Ridge.

  • 2018

    Maurice Mirabito steps down

    After 33 years as the Head Coach and President, Maurice Mirabito passes the reigns to Srdjan Andjelkovic. Srdjan renames the club to "Shin Gi Tai".

  • 2021

    Shin Gi Tai Judo Club relocates

    After 36 years in the YCMA at Aacia Ridge, Shin Gi Tai Judo Club relocated to our own premises in Coopers Plains.

  • 2022

    Shin Gi Tai becomes the largest club in Queensland

    Shin Gi Tai passes 115 members, becoming the largest Judo Club in Queensland at the time.
